I never really got the shot to be an everyday starter in River City. Neil just didn't see me in that role, regardless of the fact that I’ve been batting around .300 and holding down centerfield all season. But that’s baseball.
I’m not waiting around, though. As soon as I got in the Jeep, I was on the phone with Rich, the manager of the Gateway Grizzlies. He wants me in East St. Louis for a workout today. Even with their roster maxed out at 24, Rich said, "We'll work something out." Luckily, I played well against them earlier this year, so he knows the caliber of player I am.
For now, I'm switching gears to go shopping for Shannon. Our first anniversary is this Sunday, July 21st. I’ll keep you guys posted on the Grizzlies situation.
